26th March 2007

Brian White did it again taking the Vet 50 at the high profile Asics Reading Half Marathon won by a Kenyan in 1:03.  Brian placed 75th overall and 1st vet 50 in a time of 1:17:29.  FVS TRI’s Head Run Coach has collected 3 half marathon Vet 50 titles in 6 weeks at Watford, Milton Keynes and now Reading. Less than a minute slower than when he last raced Reading 9 years ago, the FVS TRI Head Run Coach is maturing nicely with age!  Simon Hall was rewarded with a new PB with 1:13:58 and was pleased with his 43rd overall from the 9877 finishers. Sam Tophill showed some return to form with 1:33:54 for 881st overall

 

At the local Sandy 10 Simon Patenall was first home for the Club in 1:11:21 with new member Kevin Smyth just beating Robbie Laughton  in 1:11:59 and 1:12:03 respectively. Newest member Antonia Field ran an excellent 1:13:52 and finished 151st from 432 finishers in her for race for FVS TRI.

 

 

Pete Eames and family competed in the Rayleigh Aquathlon with Pete completing the 440 yard pool swim and 5k cross country course in a total time of 30m 55secs. His splits were 7m 35secs for the swim and  23m 25secs for the run placing  him 35th out of 91 finishers and 5th in his age group.  Sarah Eames competed in the 11-12 age group, completing 200 yards swim and 1800 metres run in a total time of 13m 41secs with splits of 4m 31 secs and 9m 10secs.  Emily Eames competed in the 9-10 age group swimming 160 yards in 5m 03secs and running 1200 metres in 6mins 39secs, making a total time of 11m 42secs. Both children's results provide them with points in the Eastern Region BTA championships.


19th March 2007

FVS TRI’s Kerri Renshaw and Mike Utton battled around the Finchley 20 Mile Road Race in bright but blustery, cold conditions.  Kerri was 7th female and 64th overall in 2:17:29 with Mike 83rd in 2:20:28 from 436 finishers

Chris Yuill ran the Silverstone Half Marathon on the famous race circuit as part of her London marathon build up. Getting the worst of the weather with a midday start she finished in 1:39:43, 54th female and 748th overall from the incredible 6041 finishers!


12th March 2007

FVS TRI’s team of 11 runners were led home by Head Run Coach Brian White who won Male Vet 50 Gold at the Milton Keynes Half Marathon with a time of 1:18:40 which placed him 23rd overall. Simon Hall was 24th only a few seconds behind Brian and Kevin Sambridge and Andrew Forster also both managed to break 1:30 with a close finish in 1:28:31 and 1:28:37 respectively.  Newest member Christina Meade finished in 1:51:40 ahead of Steve Mussett in 2:02:46 making his debut at the distance and finishing 1348th from 2037 finishers

Alex Turner continued to fly the flag for the FVS TRI Cycling Team racing the 43 mile Hemel Hempstead Spring Road Race (AKA Spring Chicken). Alex was part of the exciting bunch sprint and managed a 7th overall having being boxed in at the last, denying him the elusive top 3 slot that beckoned!


5th March 2007

FVS TRI’s Richard Easterbrook took over 6 minutes off his previous best to earn a new PB of 42:46 at the Woburn 10k. Having only trained with the club for 6 months, Richard is delighted with his progress and is very happy with the training offered by the Hitchin based Triathlon Club which enabled him to finish 119th from the 1303 finishers! 

3 FVS TRI Ironmen tackled the bad weather and hilly course of the Berkhamsted Half Marathon with Mike Utton first home for the club in a time of 1:28:33 for 59th   position. Kevin Ash was 86th in 1:31:10 and GB Age Group International Kevin Smart 125th in 1:34:11
