Jackie Perry Wins 1st Title For FVS TRI!

Jackie Perry on the way to series Victory

Eight members of Stevenage based FVS TRI competed in the last of the Milton Keynes Winter Duathlon Series.

Jackie Perry won 1st Female Vet for the series with her best time of the 3 race series of 1:00:29 to finish 3rd on the day, despite a puncture in the last ½ mile!

“Mad” Jon Gillham and Lesley Dutton also competed in all 3 races and showed significant improvements over the 3 month period.

Michelle Pratt, Ellie Burton and Jeremy Prodger were all competing for their new Club for the first time and put in some impressive performances, with Jeremy recording the fastest FVS TRI time of the day (and the Series).

The race was a 2 mile run, 10 mile bike and 2 mile run format. Each run was 1 lap of the lake and the bike course was 8 technical laps of the road around Milton Keynes Bowl. The bike course was very slippery and there were some spectacular crashes, thankfully none involving FVS TRI members, many of whom benefited from the bike handling skills coaching course run the week before by FVS TRI Coaches.

Veteran Mike Blanden was a victim of a mistake by the lap counters and was sent in a lap early, to find himself in the unusual position of running the last leg with the leading men!
