Husband and wife team Clive and Paula Adams running on the same team juggled 8  weeks old Oliver John between them showing  that there is a sporting life after childbirth.

Steve Harrison raced the Wolverton 5 finishing 4th in a time of 25:42

Simon Hall and Sam Tophill competed in the Eynsham 10k near Oxford and both finished 10th vet in the race which was hosted  the Oxfordshire County Championships and the last race in a Grand Prix Series. Hall was 19th overall in 35:17 and Tophill was 164th in 43:20 from 550 finishers.

Last weekend 3 club members completed the St Neots Half Marathon with Marc Trussell leading home in 1:40:34. Kate Turner finished in 1:45:18 and Penny Wylie in 1:51:49

FVS TRI consolidated their second position in the Sunday Cross Country League with strong performance in all categories at the second fixture hosted by Garden City Runners at Digswell on a traditional undulating course.  Racing on a surprisingly dry 6.5 mile course, the coaching team led the men home with Head run Coach Brian White first home in 39.25 and Club Ironman Legend and Triathlon Coach Gavin May 2nd home for FVS TRI in 40.16. A strong performance from Mark Robertson in 40.31 helped the men’s team home to 2nd on the day and 2nd overall. Simon Patenall was first home for the B team which now lead the overall competition.  A strong performance from Drew Lowrie saw him finish up the order and there were debut runs from Ryan Johnson and Mark Malone, who was not put off by a slightly longer run than most due to a minor off course mid way through the race!  The women raced over 3.5 miles finishing 2nd in both the masters and open events. Another top 10 finish for current top club runner  Antonia Field  and solid performances from  veteran triathletes  Jackie Perry and Lesley Dutton ensured the 2nd for the masters team on the day  with 3 to score. The open competition was 5 to score and the masters were joined by  Chris Yuill and new member Gemma Sargent finishing strongly to confirm  their 2nd place in the overall  open competition.  Brenda Bozwood-Davies and Vicky Goulding both made their debuts over cross country and hope to return next month for the 3rd fixture in the 5 race league which will be held in Southgate , North London
